Merge allows you to compare and use different versions of text files such as program source code and XML files. Merge can extract text from Microsoft Office and OpenDocument files, as well as PDF and RTF files. XML files can be shown with special formatting, helping you to see changes more clearly. It supports files with ASCII, MBCS, and Unicode character encodings.
The side-by sides are color-coded so it is easy to spot similarities and differences. You can see how the documents are related by drawing links between them.
Simply click buttons to point-and–click merge. This allows you to select which parts of each file you wish to merge into a final merged version. In-place editor allows you to have complete control over the final merged file, including unlimited undo. The text comparison displays dynamically changes as the merge progresses.
Merge highlights changes in lines. You can set it to ignore lines with different line endings or whitespace, and also to ignore changes in lines that are consistent with regular expressions. This latter option is useful in ignoring important changes such as expanded version control keywords and timestamps.
