The software
GerbView(tm) is an advanced but easy-to-use application that enables you to view, print and convert Gerber, ODB++, Adobe PDF, Excellon, HPGL/2 and other formats.
GerbView is compatible with both RS-274D Gerber formats and can be used to convert older Gerber files into the new RS-274X extended format. This extended Gerber format features embedded aperture information. This format reduces the possibility of making mistakes during manufacturing.
GerbView’s pdf to CAD capability allows you convert Adobe PDF files to Gerber and Autodesk DXF.
Gerbview will visualize your design, on the screen or in hardcopy. You no longer have to wait for a prototype circuit board to see your true design. Use the precise measure and query tool to verify apertures, tools, distances, etc.
In GerbView you work with a workspace that can contain one or more files of the supported file formats. The workspace can also be saved for future use. The saved workspace will link to your design files, so only need to reload the workspace file to see the whole design.
The workspace can include markup elements such as text, barcodes (arrows, lines), images, ellipses, polygons, and text. All markup elements can easily be burned in and made part of a Gerber Layer. You can by using this feature easily add, for example, text or barcode images to a layer.
GerbView allows you to rasterize individual files or entire workspaces and save them to one of the supported formats.
You can print in scaled or real size. All Windows-based plotters, printers and scanners are supported. Poster mode, also called tiled pages or poster mode, is used to print large designs on several smaller A4/Letter sheets.

- Measure distances, areas and perimeters using snapping pads or tracks.
- Both imperial and metric units will be supported.

- Highlight select apertures in Gerber or ODB++ files.

- There are no limits on the number of files you can keep in your workspace. Only memory is limited.
